The Plight of Billy

 

We the American people are in a state of decay. Our once great civilization has turned to one of division, confusion, hatred and violence. Why is this ? Some would argue it's a lack of spending on education, a system that is too harsh on the underprivilaged. Otheres claim it's none other than giving too much to the people, to big a role of government. Is the downfall of our country contibuted to the decline in our religous values? Does all the blame lie on the imigrants, smuggling in socialist programs along with the drugs that are destroying our families ? It's all big busness, crushing the little guy in the name of profit, big time network excecutives poluting our TVs's with trash humor and violence. How DARE they destroy our children !!

I have a reality check for you, YOU are the ones destroying your children.

Perhaps I should back up. All the above examples are of blame. Everyone is looking for someone to blame. In an age where everyone is victimized and schools are teaching feelings and opinion rather than objective reasoning, blame is a natural thing to look for. Who are the victims ? Who is to blame ?

The search for blame is the problem. When people have noone to blame, they blame eachother. Everyone is a victim, everyone has a position, or worse yet, the lack of a postion. So whether you are for drugs, or against drugs, welfare or anti-welfare, you have someone to blame. As long as you have somone to blame, you have a saftey net. One for legalized drugs could claim the enforcement of drug regluations are causing the problem, starting a war over black market sales like the prohibition. The anit-drug campaign argues the drug users are the problem, drugs are the cause.

To be honest, the problem is not drugs, and it is not enforcment. The Real problem is one sided can blame the other, safe in their bubble of superiority, knowing they are the ones in the right. So the problem goes on. You do not think this apparent ? Look at Capital Hill, where the Elephants and Asses "tackle " a issue with a bi-partisin commision. And when ineffective legislation is enacted, and the situation doesnt change, who is to blame ? The Republicans blame the Democrats, the liberals blame the conservatives, each boistering their own side.

Pick any issue, you will find the same results. If you want to get extreme one could argue that the death tolls in school shootings would be alot less if other students could carry weapons to shoot back. Sound Absurd ? Of course it's absurd, the whole country is locked in absurdity. Let me ask you this, who do YOU blame ? Are your kids going to an unsafe school, getting a 3rd rate teacher who is afraid for her life, wondering if the kid she gave detention to will come back to kill her.

So, what do you do ? call your congressmen ? What's your rep's name ? do you know ? What can they do ? Those kids in Colorado didn't carry a gun hidden in his coat pocket. No, it was a cold blooded killer, who would shoot any security guard with a silly metal detector. That slaughter is what America needs, a good kick in the balls. America needs that kind of shock that says " What the fuck is wrong here ?!" I mean no disrespect to those who lost their lives. On the contrary, I want to honor them, give their deaths purpose. Do not make these kids nameless victims. Make them Maryters.

So who do you go after for this awful event ? The NRA ? Militia groups ? I know, lets send more tax dollars to pay for counsellors who don't know the kids, whom the kids have no interest in. Every kid , on some level or another, have an interest in their parents.

President Clinton was asked, "What will you do about these acts of violence?" Here is the cold blooded truth ladies and gentlemen, there is nothing a school system, your mayor, you're spiritual leader, your congressmen, OR the President can do. Raise your children. Take responsiblity. Don't see this and think, gee, I hope Billy doesn't do that kind of thing. Where is Billy ? Is he in the garage break glass and sawing pipes ? Or is he out with his girlfriend practicing the freelove 60's philosophy that spread STD's so poor billy is going to die at 30 from AIDS?

Or, is little Billy drunk off his ass, trying to capture the fun of youth that you have ripped from his grasp by legislated morality and police harrassment. No wonder he can't stand athorities, his original athorities, his parents, ditched him, and bought him new ones through tax dollars. Kids are NO more rebellious and disrespectful than you were at his age. You are just more laid back. Parents need to be the most fearless, toughest people in the world.

Perhaps Billy is at home, alone. Locked in his room, a few feet from where you sit. You don't understand him. He doesn't try to fit in. Perhaps he's seen his peers drinking and fucking the night away and realizes how meaningly and pointless it really is. So what is Billy to do ? His parents are encouraging him to spend his free time destroying himself. So poor Billy cracks, and steals his grandfathers gun and kills a few of the tormenting classmates before blowing his brains out.

Where's your little Billy? Is there any hope for your child ? OF course there is hope. Maybe Billy won't catch an STD, or drive into a telephone pole at 3am, high, drunk and very dead. Maybe his girlfriend won't get knocked up and maybe she won't end up living off the system.

Who are you going to blame ? The children ? They are KIDS, sure they know more about the world than you did at their age. Perhaps that is because too much is expected. But the yare JUST kids. You think you are scared for you children ? You worry about the future you have left for your kids ? Think of how your kids feel ? Cold, scared and alone, trying to figure out this mess you have created.

Drink up Billy, maybe you'll only kill yourself.
