The Wheel of Time turns, and Ages come and pass leaving memories that become legend, then fade to myth, and are long forgot when that Age comes again.

Welcome to the World of Robert Jordan. It is a world where technology is replaced with the one power, a force drawn through channeling. Though both male and female are able to channel, there are different flows for male and female.

The Age of Legends was the height of civilization, where hunger never happened, and all knowledge was thought to have been found. While searching for a stronger source of power, researchers accidently bored into the chamber of Shai'tan. Shai'tan, known as the Dark One, is the essense of pure evil, the exact opposite of the Creator of the light.

With the Dark One free to roam the world a great battle began. The War of the Shadows was not a conventional war. War was unknown, swords was a childrens game. The War of the Shadows saw citys destroyed with a sweep of the One Power and whole populations fed to Shadowspawn.

The Dark One was Finnally contained when Lews Therin, The Dragon, with his 100 Companions sealed the Dark One's prision and ended his touch on the world. However, the Dark One's finnal blow to the Companions Poisoned the Male flow of the One Power Saidin, and left all male channelers raving mad. This crazed use and lack of control of the One Power created a cataclysmic destruction of the world called " The Breaking " and gave Lews Therin a third name, Lews Therin Kinslayer, The Dragon.

But now, the Dark One's seals are weakening and once again the Dark One touchs the world. The Forsaken, 13 of the most powerful channelers who forsake the light for the power of the Shai'tan are loose. The world's only hope is in a young sheepherd Rand al'Thor. Rand, The Dragon Reborn must united the world, through sword or treaty, while warding off the Forsaken and the plots of individuals, to face the dark one in the Last Battle.

My Not So

Humble Opinion

Critque: 1 2 3 4 5 6

This is a series I have been waiting on all my life. I was a freshman in high school when I first picked up these books. I have been hooked ever since. The intricacys of the books far exceed any books I have ever read. Jordan has created a complete world with a history going back 3000 years and cultural biases and practices evolving from the breaking. Odd plot twists and hard to believe coincidences are explained through a concept called Ta'avern, one who bends the patern of time around him, so that coincidences and reoccurance of long passed chacaters are a norm. Expect to see a character in the first book, that suddenly reapears in the last book.

Ease of Reading Green

The Wheel of Time is not a series to take lightly. Some would say it is a life style. But it is a very well written story. He takes a complete world with a complete history and intricate connections between people and writes it a manor noone else could do better. His words flow together beatifully but the shear volume of information that must be retained in order to fully enjoy the story makes it a christmas break or summer vacation book.

Enjoyment Factor P

A very high enjoyement factor, I loved the novels, in fact, I'm still waiting for the end, every day. The most recent came out last week Oct. 20, and I'm already waiting for the next
